Summary of course

Emergency first aid at work is a one day course intended to provide the learner with the skills required to take limited control of an emergency situation or summon assistance. The first aid regulations 1981 require an employer to provide suitable first aid cover in the workplace.

Subjects dealt with will include

Course will cover The role of the emergency first aid worker and Emergency life saving procedures required to assist in the preserving of life and knowledge on those skills required to help in preventing further harm.

Learning tools

No prior knowledge is required to attend this course, as the main core of the course will focus on presenting new skills to the learner. All equipment required for CPR, Choking vests and other equipment will be provided. Learners are advised to attend course in casual clothing for ease of learning.

Conclusion of course:

The learners will be assess throughout the course by practicable assessment, whilst completing individual roles, such as CPR or use of defibrillator. A short question paper must be passed and if successful the learner will be presented with a 3 year certificate.
