Summary of course

The training is intended to help each learner to understand the background to health and safety regulations for safe working at height and the principles of safe control. Leaners will be provided with group task, designed to provoke the learners, to identify what is working at height, the risk associated with a specific task and install prevent actions to control the risks associated with working at height.

Subjects dealt with will include

Increased understanding of Working at Height Regulation, descriptions of working at height and equipment used to safe guard persons working at height. During the course each learner will be asked to work as part of small team and complete a specific risk assessment for working at height.
Description of learning topics includes: Regulations, fragile roofs, events attached to working at height, precautions required to protect persons, and associated equipment.

Learning tools

No prior knowledge is required, although some understanding of what is working at height would aid the learner. The course will use, practicable and theory methods to help in the learning process and the learning will be based around individual and team skills in identifying hazards, risks and use of safety harness.

Conclusion of course:

All learners will be provided with a certificate to show attendance and learning areas. The certificate will last 12 months and can be used to demonstrate individual competence.
